Large, multi building developments pose a familiar challenge for electrical contractors: complex electrical networks, tight compliance requirements, and increasing pressure to deliver accurate, billable energy data without introducing unnecessary installation or commissioning risk.

IPD was recently engaged to design and deliver an Energy Management System (EMS) for a large multi complex residential development in Chatswood, New South Wales, comprising multiple buildings, shared services, and EV infrastructure. The project objective was to provide clear energy visibility, accurate tenant billing, and NCC compliant monitoring. Achieving this across a distributed electrical network required a solution that was technically robust, scalable, and practical to install and commission on a complex site.
