EXT56 Outdoor Switchboard Solutions

In combination with the extensive testing that is completed on the Techno System, EXT56 offers a solution with a variety of options to comply with outdoor applications.

For over 25 years IPD has been supplying the Australian electrical industry with the market-leading, complaint Techno Switchboard system for all indoor applications. Utilising innovative technology, the requirements and needs of the customers and their extensive experience, IPD developed the EXT56 solution, a tested and certified modulation solutions for outdoor applications. The EXT56 is a simple, easy and design verified solution for switchboard builders to assemble to suit the project requirements.

Key Features

  • Tested to IP56 at Austest Laboratories
  • Complies with the new AS/NZS 61439-1&2 : 2016 Design Verification standards.
  • Current rating up to 3200A. (Contact IPD for higher ratings)
  • Tested for Internal Arcing Fault Containment in accordance with AS/NZS 61439-1&2 : 2016, Appendix ZD.
  • External cladding is made from marine grade aluminium with stainless steel as an option.

Modular Plinth

  • Maximum width of a single section is 2400 mm, extendable

Corners, Corner Bars & Cross Bars

  • Corners are made of cast aluminium
  • Corner bars & cross bars are made of 2 mm electro galvanized mild steel, powder coated
  • Sizes - 200 mm to 2400 mm

Corner Seal

  • Used at the corners of the board to achieve the IP rating
  • Made of normal monomeric clear vinyl

Sealing Gasket

  • Made of EPDM rubber closed cell foam material
  • Temperature rating -40 °C to 105 °C continuous (120 °C intermittent), ozone / UV resistant, non-toxic and flame retardant
  • Water tightness achieved at 10% compression

Frames for Doors and Covers

  • Made of 2 mm marine grade aluminium

Clamping Brackets

  • Made of 3 mm powder coated mild steel
  • Used to clamp the frames to the internal framework

Doors

  • Made of 3 mm marine grade aluminium
  • All doors are provided with padlockable 3-point swing handles and door stays
  • Can be hinged left or right

Covers

  • Made of 3 mm marine grade aluminium
  • Can be fitted directly on to the frames
  • Can be screwed onto the cover frames using torx head screws

Rainhood

  • Made of 3 mm marine grade aluminium, shed style
  • Extendable rainhoods are used where boards are longer than 2600 mm

Sunshields

  • Made of 3 mm marine grade aluminium
  • Doors and covers are available as an option for sunshields

Internal Door

  • Made of 1.5 mm mild steel powder coated (white)

Vertical & Horizontal Separation Plates

  • Made of 1.2 mm mild steel, powder coated (white)
  • Vertical & horizontal separation plates are used to form compartments

MS Barrier

  • Made of 1mm Mild Steel painted white
  • Used to prevent accidental contact with live parts

Internal Filler Profiles

  • Made of 3 mm white PVC
  • Used to meet internal IP rating
