What is a Miniature Circuit Breaker (MCB)?

A Miniature Circuit Breaker (MCB) is an electrical breaker that automatically interrupts current flow during overload or short circuit conditions. Designed for use in low-voltage power distribution, MCBs provide quick disconnection to protect wiring and connected devices. IPD offers single-pole, double-pole, three-pole and four-pole MCBs suitable for residential and industrial systems.

What are Type B, C, and D curve MCBs?

MCBs are classified by tripping characteristics—Type B for resistive loads, Type C for general or inductive loads, and Type D for heavy motor starting applications. IPD supplies a range of B curve, C curve, and D curve MCBs with ratings upto 125A. Each provides precise overcurrent protection for various system requirements.

What accessories are available for IPD MCBs?

IPD offers compatible auxiliary contacts, shunt trips, MCB lockout devices, busbars, motorized devices and DIN rail terminals to enhance system functionality. These circuit breaker accessories support safe maintenance and simplified installation in switchboard and industrial environments.
